Agribusiness, monthly declines in July for meat and fruit and vegetables. Further increase for olive oil.

Widespread declines were observed in July for wholesale food prices. Among fresh products, fruits, vegetables , and meats and eggs were down compared to June. Fruit and vegetable prices still remained at higher levels than last year.

The reduction in meat was mainly due to the decline in beef and poultry meat. Pork is up, thanks to increased demand typical of the summer period.

Among processed products, still a "minus" sign affected rice and cheese, although for the latter the declines were of limited magnitude.

Among the exceptions are the rise in semolina among processed products, on the heels of the increases seen in durum wheat, and the new rise inolive oil, with the wholesale price ofextra virgin oil reaching record levels. Among oils, seed oils are back on the rise.
